Also, most guest house owners in Goa are extremely accommodating of the need of their guests. Top Tips for booking a Guesthouse in Goa

Here are a few tips that have always worked for me while booking a stay in Goa:

  1. Book Early – You need to book well in advance if you are planning to visit during the peak tourist season. This is especially important if you are planning to stay in a hostel or in busy places like Baga or Calangute.
  2. Call the property – Call the property at least a day before your arrival.  That way not only will they keep your stay ready but you will also get a last-minute confirmation and there won’t be any hassles. Sometimes the location of a guesthouse may be confusing for a first-time visitor. Calling the property beforehand helps.
  3. Avoid the weekends – Avoid visiting Goa on the weekends. Not only will the prices be inflated but the beaches will be too crowded.
  4. Avoid the Christmas time – Unless you want to visit Goa specifically for the Avoid the time between Christmas and the new year is the busiest time in North Goa. The beaches are full, and the resorts, hotels and hostels are jam-packed. The accommodation prices and more than doubled.
  5. Carry Valid ID Cards – It is mandatory for all travellers to carry a valid ID card to secure a booking. I would recommend you carry your ID cards to avoid last-minute disappointment. Foreign Nationals are required to produce their passports at the time of booking. Indians can use their Aadhar card for the same.
